Privacy Policy

Ifta collects nothing about you. There is no account, no sign-up, no email, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Nothing you type is stored on any server we run, because we do not run one.
What stays on your device
Ifta saves a small amount of data locally, in your device's own app storage. It is never transmitted to us:
- Answers you choose to save
- Your recent searches
- Your chain code and the count of links you have shared
- Your reading preferences, such as text size
All of it is removed when you delete the app. You can clear your recent searches from the Ask screen at any time, and remove saved answers individually.
What happens when you search
Ifta is a search tool. When you ask a question, your query is sent directly from your device to the public archives and services being searched, so they can return matching answers. Those organisations operate independently of Ifta and may record the request, including your IP address, under their own privacy policies. They include:
- Dar al-Ifta al-Misriyyah
- IslamWeb (Qatar Ministry of Awqaf)
- Islam Q&A
- AMJA
- SeekersGuidance
- Hadith Answers
- Yaqeen Institute
- The archives of Ibn Baz and Ibn Uthaymeen
- Other published fatwa archives, Qur'an and hadith sources, and YouTube for recorded answers
Ifta does not attach your name, an account, a device identifier or an advertising ID to any of these requests, because it does not have them.
Opening and sharing
Opening a source link may hand you to your browser or to YouTube, which then applies its own privacy policy. Sharing an answer uses your operating system's standard share sheet. Ifta does not see what you send or who you send it to.
Chain
The chain counter is calculated on your device from links you have created. Ifta ships with no chain server configured, so nothing about your sharing leaves your phone. If a future version enables a server, this policy will be updated before that version is released.
Children
Ifta is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
Your rights
Because Ifta holds no personal data about you on any server, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete on request. Deleting the app removes everything Ifta has stored.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date above.
